I arrived at therapy as a profession late in life.
After several years in business software and professional services sales, and later as a full-time real estate investor, I made the decision to follow a life-long calling to pursue a masters in mental health counseling.
Through my life experiences, I have seen the destruction that can happen when we feel disconnected from others and from ourselves.
Today, I bring my desire to see people reach the most for themselves, and to build genuine connection with others, to my approach to therapy.
People have the power to create solutions.
I operate from a person-centered perspective. This means that I view people as inherently positive. When given support, acceptance, and the right environment, individuals have the ability to create their own solutions to the problems they face.
Humans are hard-wired for connection with others. Breaks in these connections can be painful and overwhelming. Change in therapy takes place through new “felt experiences” of connection that have the potential to shift your relationships with others, and with yourself.
Acknowledging where you are today, can be the biggest step forward.
Ironically, a willingness on your part to acknowledge and start where you are today can be the biggest step in moving out of the current “stuck” place.
Through the use of different types of therapy, like Emotionally Focused Therapy for individuals and couples, I help you tap into your internal power to change in ways that better meet your wants and needs.
I am passionate about working with individuals and couples.
I have additional training in Emotionally Focused Therapy for both couples and individuals. I also have experience working with couples who have lost connection in their relationship and feel they are in desperate need of change.
I have seen incredible change in clients struggling with anxiety, depression, a history of trauma and abuse, bereavement/grief/loss, gender questioning, divorce, low self-esteem, shame, pornography and affairs, and tough family dynamics.
Things can change.
Your relationships can improve. You can feel more like yourself again. You can feel safer.
I would be honored to walk with you as you work to create the shift you desire in your life.
Take advantage of our complimentary 20-minute phone consultation to see if we might be a fit.
Outside of the therapy room…
I enjoy spending time with family and friends either at home or in the great outdoors. You will often find me riding my motorcycle or mountain bike, or golfing with my wife and kids.
“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.”
