I didn’t set out to study mental health and counseling.
I started with a business degree, focusing on computers… and ended up in a tech-focused corporate career.
I went down that path because I was told it would bring “success.”
But I didn’t feel that way.
I was always longing for something more.
After much reflection, I realized that what I liked about my corporate job was helping others overcome what was holding them back in their career. They usually weren’t work-related blocks. They were unfulfilled desires.
Ah… I had a sense of direction! I thought about it long and hard, but it was time to take a giant leap of faith and change careers.
So, I returned to college and got a master’s degree in counseling – with additional training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy.
Now, it’s my mission to cultivate wonder, excitement, and authenticity.
A big part of my journey was seeing how those things weren’t in MY life.
What did I truly believe?
What kind of world did I want to create for myself and my children?
Is it okay to question things?
Is it too late to make changes?
I’ve been on this journey of self-discovery, so I know how disorienting and uncomfortable it can be.
But I also know the reward on the other side, and I’m excited to help you reach yours!
Outside of the therapy room…
I love spending time with my family, including our poodle, Sam.
Whenever possible, I make time to read a good book and listen to podcasts.
I also love vacationing, especially near the ocean, where I can hear the waves!
