Frequently Asked Questions

Where is your office located?

5310 West Village Parkway, Suite #4 Rogers, AR 72758

We also see clients via telehealth.

What are your hours?

Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. By appointment only.

Other times may be scheduled outside of these hours with your individual therapist based on availability.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes!

We accept Arkansas BCBS, Ambetter, and QualChoice.

We also have competitive self-pay cash rates for individuals who do not have insurance or who choose not to utilize insurance.

How long are sessions?

A typical session lasts 50 minutes.

There are times when a longer or shorter session may be indicated. We will discuss that together and the costs for each.

How often do I come to therapy?

Each person is different. Usually, we start with once a week.

After a while, we might decide that more or less frequent would be beneficial.

How many sessions will I need to commit to?

Each person’s treatment plan is different. It depends on your personal goals and commitment to your progress.

Some clients come for a specific concern and end therapy once it’s resolved. Others come for over a year because they have a long-term focus.

It is completely up to you!

How do I set up an initial appointment?
What is your cancellation policy?

Life happens. Things come up, but making therapy a priority is also important.

We have a 24-hour cancellation policy. Anything less incurs the cost of the full session.

We allow one late cancellation without a fee.

Do you provide telehealth?
We do! We offer a fully secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth solution.
Can you provide an estimate of my total costs?

Under the federal “No Surprises Act,” healthcare providers must give patients without insurance or not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

If you are paying privately or using “Out-of-Network” benefits for your therapy, I will provide you with a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your care may cost.

The number of visits appropriate in your case and the final estimated total cost for the year depends on your needs and what you agree to with your therapist.

Why pay for therapy when I can just talk to my family and friends?

Talking to friends is great. You need a strong circle of support.

But when you come in for therapy, this is your “safe space.”

Here, you can feel comfortable talking about all the things that matter and change them for the better.

What should I expect before my first session?

You will receive a few documents from my client portal to review and complete before our first session.

Do you work with women? Men? Couples?
We work with individuals of all genders and couples of all types.
What do you actually do in sessions with clients?

We will start by gathering information about your history and current situation.

We will discuss what goals you’d like to achieve in therapy based on your vision for your future self.

We will use research-based techniques to relieve your symptoms and achieve your goals.

Do you offer gender-affirming services?
We do! Your gender is a part of who you are, and your identity is respected. This is a safe space for all.
Do you offer LGBTQIA+-affirming services?

We do! Sexuality is a large part of our identity, and that is respected and affirmed here.

Whether you are sure of your sexual identity or working to figure it out and accept it, therapy is a safe, nonjudgmental place to explore.

Do your clients receive assignments to work on between sessions?

If you like having specific “assignments” or “homework” between sessions, then yes, those will be assigned.

These could include mediation and mindfulness techniques, reading articles or books, grounding techniques, or worksheets.

What’s unique about your approach to therapy?
We tailor treatment plans to the individual needs of each client. Our therapists are focused on getting to know you as an individual and are trained in various techniques to build a plan that works for you and your needs.
What else should I know to make the most of working with you?

What we discuss in session is meant to be applied in your everyday life. Your dedication and drive outside of session directly impact your success.

The more you implement the things we talk about, the faster you will see change.

“Um-hmm… and how does that make you feel?”

Have you ever seen that during a therapy session on TV? People often wonder if that’s what it’s really like.

The answer is no… and yes.

While it’s important to get to root causes (which usually requires understanding the emotions behind your thoughts and behaviors), a therapist rarely probes deeper by asking, “How does that make you feel?” to get the answer.

Do I have to lie on a couch?

You can if you want to!

You can adjust the pillows, sit up straight, or kick back and relax. Your comfort is most important.
